RISING TEMPERATURES Are Making YOUR SLEEP WORSE
A new study published in @cellpress has shown that rising temperatures and climate change are eroding hours of our quality sleep each year, leading to a bunch of other negative health consequences. We are already losing, on average, dozens of hours of quality sleep each year, but this is projected to rise to two whole weeks annually by the end of the century! The study also shows that some people, like the elderly, poor and women, are affected worse than others. But there are ways you can manage, maintain and improve your sleep hygiene despite rising temperatures. It’s important to stay cool, but as a fan or air conditioning will only make climate change worse, the best option is to invest in breathable sheets or a cooling pillow/mattress, which use materials like cooling gel and foams to regulate your bodyheat.
